Reverend Dr. S. Goldston Williams - Appointee of The Leader of the Opposition

Reverend Dr. S. Goldston Williams, BA, M. Div., D. Min., was born in Bottle Creek, North Caicos, Turks and Caicos Islands. He worked for Shell Bahamas Limited and West India Shipping Company. While working for West India Shipping Company as an engineer, he felt the call of God on his life. He knew that in order to be equipped for service, he needed training; he left West India shipping and enrolled at the Hobe Sound Bible College where he majored in Ministerial Studies. In 1987, he graduated with his BA in Ministerial Studies and returned home to be near his parents.

In 1989, he applied to the Turks and Caicos Baptist Union, and was given the pastorate of the Middle Caicos Circuit of Baptist Churches. He faithfully served in this capacity for almost 12 years. During his tenure, he not only ministered to the spiritual and physical needs of his congregation, but he also ensured that the house of worship was in good condition. Blessed with carpentry skills, he did major renovations on Mt. Moriah Baptist Church transforming it into a beautiful place of worship. The church at that time was one of the best edifices in the Turks and Caicos Islands. He also did minor renovations to the other two churches and built the Baptist Mission House in Conch Bar.

There are times in a man’s life when changes occur and challenges are encountered; thus in 2001 Rev. Williams accepted the challenge of pastorate at the Paradise Baptist Church in Five Cays, Providenciales. The road was rough, but God was there for him. Today he enjoys a delightful ministry.

Along with serving his church family, Rev. Williams has served, and still is serving the larger community in various capacities. He has served on the Immigration Board and Public Service Commission Board. He has held the positions of President and Vice President of the Turks and Caicos Baptist Union. Currently, he is the Executive Secretary of the TCIBU.

Rev. Williams’ education includes BA, M. Div., and Doctorate of Ministry Degree. To God he gives all the glory.

He has been happily married to Whitlean Higg for 42 years and together they have 3 children: Denaz, Demekos, and Dejeana.
